    Just dont give them permission to manage the KB, then they can only view it.
    As for the edit / delete own articles, we don't mind this, since for us only few can edit the KB at all.
    You can also ask Mike ("Mods for Hesk") if this is not included in Hesk itself.

    To "hide" the KB in the frontend, just make the categories "private".
    AFAMK the other istn possbile without sort of authentication like customer login oder .htaccess login.

    AFAMK Trello is project/product management, not ITS.
    Kanban is process management in production.
    So why should Hesk use such or can you explain it better, what you want the boss to implement?

    Would be interesting feature, but dont think the boss will do it, its much and complex work to build a CMDB.

    Why bother using an old/outdated hesk version?

    Hesk is already "open source", isnt it?
    You can modify the files, they're not encrypted.

    Swichting off auto-assign in settings and giving staff permission to view unassigned tickets and assign self wouldnt do it?

    Commenting on KB would be nice, but it should be switchable (on/off) in the settings area and have some sort of security like recaptcha, limiting comments per time or such to help prevent spamming. Also staff should be able to edit/delete comments in the ACP (maybe per permission like 'can_edit_comments', 'can_delete_comments').

    Subcategories would be nice, but what would be more important is assigning custom fields to categories. Currently all custom fields are displayed always, no matter what category the user selects. But not all fields belong to all categories. You can leave the CF in the settings area but in options one can add the categories where these fields should be displayed. Thanks.

    Nice idea. Staff should be able to define how long they would be on "vacation" or similar (i. e. 2 weeks, 1 month etc.)

    It would be nice to have a user login like you have staff login. Otherwise create an email filter to ban certain emails and domains from creating tickets.
